Media & Learning Conference and Symposium
Brussels (BE), November 2016 - This year, the annual Media & Learning get-together in Brussels will be structured around two separate events: the Media & Learning Conference entitled Learning Media for Digital Citizenship and the Media & Learning Symposium called Video in Higher Education. This highly interactive gathering will include lots of inspiring talks, demos, best-practice showcases, and workshop sessions.
The Learning Media for Digital Citizenship conference is all about inspiring, informing and sharing great ideas on what it means to be a digital citizen and how media fit into this process. Themes underpinning the agenda include supporting students to be citizen journalists with schemes to promote fact checking, ethical reporting, and mobile journalism; understanding the importance of students’ online engagement and influence through vlogging and other practices; and building competences and skills amongst students to become multimedia content creators.
The Media & Learning Symposium on Video in Higher Education will focus on practical themes including measuring the use of video with learning analytics; innovating learning experiences with 3D, 4K, augmented reality, and virtual reality; building efficient technical services to support one-button recording by academics and large amounts of student- generated content; assessing students’ video-based work; and the application of different video-based formats.
The call for proposals to the agenda for both events is open until 01 December.
