The e4net Project

Barcelona, December 2005 - e4net is a European Special Interest Group (SIG) working on the potentials of elearning in support of regional development processes. The SIG aims at identifying and showing the possibilities of virtual learning and information environments in this context as well as supporting the transfer of successful experiences at the local and international levels. The transnational network e4net has been initiated and is moderated by four partners in Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The project, supported in the frame of the European Imitative "elearning", concentrates on three main fields of work: vocational training, training and services for SMEs, and the role of public administrations. In each of these fields, e4net brings together experts, experiences, and examples of best practice, evaluates and systemises existing experiences or solutions regarding its transferability, and derives practical conclusions for both end users and decision makers at the political level.
