The vast library of educational resources is being added to the award-winning site Promethean Planet, a unique teaching, sharing, and support community created for teachers by teachers. Nearly one million Planet members around the world will now have access to the programmes free of charge. In addition to streaming, Promethean is exploring options to make the content freely downloadable for Planet members.

Teachers TV ceased broadcasting in April 2011 following government cutbacks. The former free-to-air television channel and online training site provided videos, support materials, and classroom resources to over 400,000 registered users, primarily in the UK.

Brent Taggart, President of Promethean Community and Content, comments, "Teachers TV was the source of such a wide and diverse suite of rich content that it would have been a real shame for that to be lost. The fact that we're now able to take this to a global audience through Promethean Planet will allow an even wider pool of teachers to take advantage of it."
