Changing the World of Learning
London (UK), June 2007 - Since being made available to the public, the first version of the Kaleidoscope Vision Statement has already had significant impact in the field of TEL. Currently it is informing input into a governmental report on "future learning" in the UK. In addition, it has attracted the attention of the organisers of the 2008 Networked Learning conference, who are interested in a keynote presentation concerning the iterative and highly collaborative process the Network undertook for the Statement's creation and the challenges it faced.
The Kaleidoscope Vision Statement, version 1.0, is the Network's initial expression of the ambitions of TEL research in Europe and the key issues such research raises. Over the course of this year, the Statement will evolve into subsequent versions that will elaborate the vision outlined in version 1.0in greater detail.
To be truly successful, input is needed:
- What portions of the Vision Statement support your perspective?
- How might you wish to reshape the research programme or improve the ways in which it works?
To voice your opinion, go to the Stakeholder's Club Blog, where there is an ongoing dialogue about the Vision Statement and issues central to TEL and its future. The outcomes will be discussed at the upcoming 2007 Kaleidoscope Symposium, to be held in November 2007.
