First Bremen eLearning Fo

Preparing Universities for the Ne(x)t Generation

Bremen (GER), March 2008 - The first Bremen eLearning Forum will neither be a conference nor a convention, but a day-and-a-half occasion for discussing and exploring the issues faced by European universities in meeting the needs and expectations of the "Net generation" as well as those of the next generation of students. The Bremen Forum will take place on April 17th and 18th as part of the eLene-Teaching and Learning Centre's activities.

It is the third eLearning project run by the eLene group, a network of eight universities, born in 2003 as a result of the case studies that contributed to the report to the European Commission on "Virtual Models of European Universities".

The eLene partners invite you to Bremen, Germany to participate in this multi-stakeholder event where students and decision makers will get together to discuss how universities can better integrate ICT into teaching and learning in a special knowledge café session.

Teachers and teacher trainers can participate in professional development activities run by the eLene team, and instructional designers will get a sneak preview of the eLene resource and competency development guide.

Everyone will get the chance to learn more about the competency framework for ICT-supported teaching and learning. Individual members of the eLene-TLC team will be on hand for in depth discussion.

Registration for the Bremen Forum costs only fifty euros. It will take place in the Atlantic Hotel Universum, located close to the University of Bremen. Accommodation is available at special rates at the Atlantic Hotel for registered conference participants.
