Paris (F), October 2013 - The open access debate is all the rage in Europe, and it is not likely to go away any time soon. In a special issue, the Euroscientist brings an analysis of the impact open access is currently having on the community of researchers throughout Europe. It also contains opinions from the most respected open-access experts. The opinions reflect upon the far reaching implications of open access that are turning the world of science publishing upside down.
Open access has now reached a tipping point, suggesting that academic publishing has now changed irreversibly. The magazine also focuses on who should pay for open-access: research grants or institutions' libraries. To find out more, read the special edition of the Euroscientist.
Readers are also welcome to send them testimonies to tell the Euroscientist about their own experiences of publishing open-access papers.
More importantly, the organization is seeking support from European and national associations, federations, and all stakeholders able to offer support in giving members and affiliates an opportunity to take part in the Euroscientist open-access debate and ensure that they receive the broadest exposure and feedback to this special issue.
The Euroscientist is the journal of EuroScience, the European grassroots organization of scientists across disciplines and countries.
