Appointment of Specialist Trainer in Microsoft
London (UK), November 2013 - New Horizons London, a provider of IT training and strategic consulting services, has appointed Joan Gilbert as a specialist trainer in Microsoft and CompTIA. Joan has been appointed to meet demand for IT training and up-skilling due to rapid advances in technology, as well as to support the continued growth within the IT sector.
Recent forecasts suggest that the IT and computing sector will continue to expand and become a key element of business growth in the UK. And research has showed that employment in the IT sector is projected to grow nearly five times faster over the next decade than the UK average.
Owing to this growth, New Horizons London is continuing to put its focus on recruiting experienced technical trainers to support the future of IT training. Ms. Gilbert joins New Horizons London with a successful track record in training people to enhance their job performance and accelerate career progression.
Having begun her career as a technical trainer at New Horizons in the USA, Ms. Gilbert went on to become a senior technical trainer at Pearson in Practice (Technology), where she spent more than four years mentoring and training apprentices in IT and business skills. During her time there, she was also responsible for commercial SQL 2008 and 2012 training.
Commenting on her new role, Ms. Gilbert said, “I have a real interest in customising class content for all student levels, from beginner to the advanced level. At New Horizons London, my role will be to deliver courses ranging from the use of new Microsoft Office software to managing servers and networks.
"As technology continues to advance at a rapid rate, there is a need for IT professionals and individuals looking to enter the sector to enhance their skills. There is also a greater need for IT training within businesses generally on how to use new Microsoft operating systems and office suites."
Philip Badman, Deputy Principal for Group Operations at Newham College, commented, “We are constantly striving to ensure that we employ the right people with the right skills so that we can become the preferred training partner for medium to large companies, as well as individuals looking to up-skill and enhance their career. "Ms. Gilbert’s expertise in training will be an asset to the company as we continue to offer strategic training solutions to suit business needs."
