AVEVA Collaborates with Edvantage gGoup
Brighton (UK), December 2010 - Edvantage group, an eLearning company and Managed Learning Service provider, has worked collaboratively with AVEVA Group plc, a provider of engineering data and design and information-management solutions to the plant, power, and marine industries, to launch a new eLearning induction programme for AVEVA's employees.
Prior to the launch of the induction course, new employees were given a localised personal induction that focused on policies and procedures. This was found to be inconsistent in its content across the global offices and lacked elements regarding the organisation's brand, culture, and values. AVEVA have experienced impressive growth organically and through acquisition, resulting in employees lacking the vision of who the organisation is, where they fit within the wider picture, and the future goals of the company.
The online induction course was created collaboratively using Edvantage group's software-as-a-service -based content-authoring tool, CourseBuilder. AVEVA and the team at Edvantage group worked together on the online induction, and then AVEVA took on the customisation and ongoing management of the course using the CourseBuilder tool. Where required, AVEVA can call in assistance from the experts in the Edvantage group team on an ongoing basis for this or any other eLearning productions.
Hilary Wright, Head of Group HR at AVEVA explains, "In launching this eLearning globally, we are enabling our employees to access information and learning material wherever they are in the world."
"With 900 employees across over forty countries, this is really important to us. It has also proved invaluable following recent acquisitions to provide a learning platform immediately to our new colleagues, thereby speeding up the information flow and integration process."
The course was launched initially to UK and Swedish employees following a pilot with new employees and established personnel. It was then rolled out to offices in America, Asia- Pacific, and EMEA. In all cases, the course will be accessible to new employees to supplement the personal induction sessions and to existing personnel to bring synergy across the group.
