IMC AG Provides New eLearning Content for McDonald's
Saarbrücken (GER), January 2013 - In 2011 IMC AG announced that it had acquired McDonald's Germany as a new customer for new media content. The eLearning module provided - covering a variety of topics relating to shift management - was so impressive that the restaurant chain has now commissioned IMC to design and implement further products.
McDonald's Germany has requested IMC's New Media Team to provide additional modules for training shift supervisors and a brand-new product for assistant managers. This time, the media focuses on the subjects of staff management, communication, and time management, as well as on the restaurant systems used by McDonald's. The eLearning modules have been developed as part of a new training concept with digital learning.
The protagonists in the already familiar comic-style format guide trainees through the various sections of the training. The program gives examples of how to organize harmonious and efficient teamwork in restaurants and provides instruction on legislation, for example the Working Hours Act, framework agreements on employment conditions, and the Young Persons Employment Act. The target group of assistant managers is trained using restaurant systems. Factual knowledge as well as soft skills are thus both subjects covered by the new product.
The eLearning modules enable McDonald's Germany to train its staff using interesting state-of-the-art methods that can be used in any location at any time. Any details that are particularly important can be downloaded as PDF documents. Newly acquired knowledge can also be tested using a variety of short tests. Greater use of video material, e.g. in the form of staff interviews, should help trainees to make stronger links between the training material and practical experience.
"We are very proud that our latest media for McDonald's has impressed our customer, such that they trust us to continue working with them", stated Dr Wolfgang Kraemer, CEO of IMC. "The intuitive operation and appealing implementation of the learning modules has been designed for a broad target group and makes learning an entertaining experience!"
