New OLAT 7.2.0 Public Release Now Available

Zurich (CH), June 2011 - OLAT 7.2.0 has been released! First planned as a maintenance release (7.1.1), now all changes (HG-related refactoring and Maven) have been released together with the 7.1 fixes as 7.2 public. That means that 7.1 was skipped, and 7.2 is being pushed as the next release.

Besides some new features, OLAT 7.2.0 offers improvements and enhancements mainly on the level of the core, which don't affect users directly. These changes are related to the development of OLAT. It is absolutely necessary that users of the update get in touch with the new guidelines and familiarise themselves with how to develop features and improvements.

Most of the bugfixes affect the ePortfolio. Furthermore

  • Ajax in IE9 is now supported
  • group titles now allow more than 100 characters
  • course export no longer mutilates titles
  • wrong and missing keys have been fixed

The version number has now been expanded to four digits: 7.2.0.0., which stand for Major.Minor.Maintenance.Patch respectively.

OLAT is open source and free of charge. It offers a flexible online course system with extensive features to guarantee learning and teaching independent of time and place. It has been created especially for public institutions such as universities, academies, and colleges, but it is also suitable for other businesses.
