New Owner for Balance Learning
Gloucestershire (UK), September 2011 - Balance Learning, publisher of award-winning and innovative off-the-shelf and customised eLearning since 2003, was acquired earlier this year by Chris Horseman as part of his new company Hot Learning.
Chris Horseman says, "I was involved with the creation of the Balance Learning products and always felt that they offered learners a more engaging experience than most off-the-shelf eLearning available.
Over the last year I have been developing a strategy for providing learning on devices such as smart phones and tablets, and when I was offered the Balance eLearning portfolio, I realised it was a golden opportunity both to kick start a range of high-quality mobile-learning products and to further develop the existing business by offering customers better value and new features.
I've already instigated a number of changes. For example most customers are coming to us as a result of their own web research or word of mouth, so it seems only fair that as they are doing the work, we pass on the cost savings. I have reduced the price of courses and simplified our pricing model to do this. Also, as a lot of organisations have told me that buying and installing a Learning Management System is a barrier to getting started with eLearning, I've included free use of our web based Learning Management Portal in the course license fee."
Balance Learning will be demonstrating their first off-the-shelf modular learning apps and eActivity books for smart phones and tablets at the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition in Birmingham on 27 - 28 September 2011 in partnership with eLearning Studios.
