Top-class Learning for Chinese Automobile Factory
Hongkong (HK) / Shanghai (CN), February 2013 - NetDimensions, a global provider of performance, knowledge, and learning-management systems, has announced that Geely, one of the top ten automobile manufacturers in China, has selected the NetDimensions Talent Suite for a global learning and talent-management solution to support the company's growth in the automobile industry.
Since entering the automobile market in 1997, Geely Holding Group has been developing rapidly through flexible management and innovation. The total assets of the company exceeds RMB 100 billion (including Volvo Cars Corporation), and this makes Geely one of China's top 500 companies for nine consecutive years and one of the top ten auto manufacturers for eight consecutive years. Geely is recognized as one of the "Most Innovative Enterprises in China" and "Complete Vehicle Export Base in China." Geely sold a total of 432,000 automobiles in 2011.
To support this growth, Geely believes that maintaining a highly trained and skilled workforce is the way to stay competitive in today's world. Therefore, Geely partnered with NetDimensions to implement a three-phase learning and talent-management strategy.
- establish a robust and flexible talent-management platform to deliver online training programs, foster a collaborative environment, and enhance the knowledge sharing culture among employees;
- leverage the system to include all employees in Geely's subsidiaries, as well as the whole supply chain in an extended enterprise model;
- take full advantage of the multi-language functionality of the NetDimensions Talent Suite to cover all Geely's overseas employees in five countries, including Indonesia, Uruguay, Cuba, Belarus, and Russia.
"We evaluated many vendors both local and overseas before deciding on NetDimensions for this project," said Ms. Weihong He, Geely's Senior HR Manager.
"NetDimensions is the most qualified and suitable provider for Geely in terms of their industry experience, client testimonies, product-feature support, and all the value-added services provided during the whole sales process. We are looking forward to working with NetDimensions to deliver a top-class learning and talent-management solution that can minimize cost, improve employee retention, increase work motivation, and ultimately improve performance and productivity for the whole company," noted He.
Charles Cheng, General Manager of NetDimensions Software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd said, "It is a great pleasure for NetDimensions to become the online-learning and talent-management- system provider for Geely and its 20,000 employees. We highly appreciate the trust Geely has shown in us, and we are committed to working closely with Geely to ensure maximum success in the implementation project. This project will become the new foundation for NetDimensions in China's automobile industry."
