Create eLearning for a Real-life Workplace Situation
Bruessels (BE), March 2013 - Dr. David Guralnick's eLearning-design course "Workplace eLearning: Creating an Effective eLearning User Experience" will be offered again this spring as an eight-week online course!
Learn to create engaging, effective eLearning based on research from the fields of education, motivation, cognitive psychology, and software usability, and see demonstrations of successful eLearning. The dates are from 01 April to 24 May 2013.
Learn proven best practices in eLearning design in workplace environments, putting academic research into practice. Explore real-world case studies and demonstrations of courses and systems, and uses of workplace eLearning in training and just-in-time performance support. Participants will design an eLearning or performance product for a real-life workplace situation.
Course Topics
- designing eLearning courses and just-in-time support to solve real-world problems
- creating an engaging and effective eLearning user experience for a workplace audience
- research in cognition and motivation for eLearning design
- current trends in workplace eLearning interface design
- usability studies and testing
- designing eLearning for various audiences
- designing effective eLearning within the constraints of the business world
Course Activities
Over eight weeks, the course will include
- video demonstrations of real-life eLearning success stories
- weekly readings and discussions in online forums.
- video and audio online discussions with Dr. Guralnick and other eLearning experts, which will be available for live participation and archived for you to watch anytime.
The course meets "asynchronously" each week as it suits your schedule. Optional one-hour live sessions with Dr. Guralnick are also available each week; these will remain available via video to watch at your convenience.
Before the course begins, all registrants will receive access to the online site used to access the readings for the course. A certificate of completion can be emailed upon request to participants who complete the course.
