EFQUEL Innovation Forum 2009
Brussels (BE)/Helsinki (FI), September 2009 - The EFQUEL Innovation Forum 2009 is taking place 23 - 25 September in Helsinki, Finland. At the event, international delegates and eLearning and change experts have the chance to interact and discuss challenges, visions, and developments. The Forum is organised by the Brussels-based European Foundation for Quality in eLearning (EFQUEL) and the TKK Dipoli in Espoo, Finland.
The EFQUEL Innovation Forum is about Fostering Quality through Creative Learnscapes. Learnscapes are the ecosystems for informal learning. They are viewed as a major stimulus for releasing creativity because they provide the space for learners to design their own -œlearning landscape- and thus engender innovation in educational practices and organisations. The EFQUEL Innovation Forum 2009 recognises the important role of informal learning for individual, organisational, and regional learning and focuses on how creative learnscapes can foster quality and innovation.
The meeting - linked to the European year for creativity and innovation - will be an interactive forum in which examples for the power of creative learning are presented. The debate will focus on possibilities for harnessing innovation and leading change towards better quality.
The Forum brings together the most creative minds and prominent thinkers in the field. Presenters and participants come from Europe and beyond to form a learnscape in which they can create visions for their own practice. For a detailed program and more information, please check the program and registration sections of the Forum website.
Among the experts who will contribute to the Innovation Forum 2009 are Maruja Gutierrez-Diaz (European Commission), Brian Holmes (EACEA), Prof. Gilly Salmon (University of Leicester), Nnenna Nwakanma from the Ivory Coast, and Muneo Yoshikawa from Japan.
The purpose of the Foundation - with over seventy members - is to involve actors in a European community of users and experts. The benefit: sharing experience to strengthen individual, organisational, local, and regional development through eLearning. In addition, EFQUEL is a bridge for dialogue between Europe and many other world regions.
