eInfrastructure and eServices for Developing Countries
Yaounde (CM), August 2012 - AFRICOMM'2012 is an annual conference that addresses information and communication technologies for developing countries (ICT4DCs). It is the fourth of the series that includes workshops, tutorials, demos, and a student track. It will take place from 12-14 November 2012 in Yaounde, Cameroon.
ICTs have proven to offer immense potential to development. However, designing, developing, and deploying infrastructures and solutions that are affordable and efficient when only limited resources are available is a very challenging task. This presents an obstacle to developing countries reaping the benefits that ICTs offer.
AFRICOMM 2012 brings together researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in ICT to discuss issues and trends, recent research, innovation advances, and in-the-field experiences related to eInfrastructure, eGovernance, eBusiness, and enabling policy and regulations with a clear focus on developing countries.
The event is endorsed by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organisation devoted to the advancement of innovation in the field of ICT.
