Invitation to World of Learning 2009 in the UK
Birmingham (UK), April 2009 - The UK's key conference and exhibition for business learning, World of Learning 2009, will draw thousands of learning and development professionals to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham when it takes place on 30 September - 1 October 2009.
Now in its seventeenth year, the World of Learning is the 'must-attend' event for learning and development professionals, as well as those responsible for human resources within their organisations.
World of Learning 2009 will include:
- A world-class conference programme featuring leading international speakers and inspiring high-profile case studies.
- Valuable features including free seminars, interactive workshops, an Experiential Learning Zone, the BILD Advice Clinic, the Serious Games Zone, product presentations, a Venue Pavilion, the Learning Architect Energiser Zone, and the TrainingZone Networking Café.
- More than 110 major industry organisations offering the latest ideas and solutions to learning and development industry needs.
The wide selection of learning and development solutions available will reflect the current demands in the industry, ranging from blended solutions, eLearning, HR/learning management systems, and social media to management development, coaching, instructor-led training, and training venues.
The major feature of the World of Learning is the high-level conference, which will discuss the key issues facing learning and development professionals today. A special focus deals with responding to the increasing demands being placed on delivering more effective learning on restricted budgets.
This year the conference will, in particular, look at how learning and development specialists can help their organisations continue to invest in the skills of the people they will need to take them forward out of the recession, while at the same time responding to the current pressures on budgets. This will include, for instance, the need to assess in-house skills in light of restructuring following redundancies and mergers.
It will also discuss how learning and development teams should work more closely with HR and line management in talent management as the recession starts to subside.
Andrew Gee, Senior Project Manager for the World of Learning, says, "The World of Learning has continually grown and evolved with the industry, responding not only to economic and market forces but also to technological and cultural developments in learning".
"This will again be reflected within the themes of this world-leading conference as well as in the many features of the exhibition. In 2009 the World of Learning will provide a comprehensive resource and guide for learning and development professionals at all levels with solutions to their needs and the opportunities in the economic world of today."
