Crowdsourcing for the Development of ITIL® Practitioner
London (UK), July 2015 - AXELOS is using crowdsourcing - gathering ideas, challenges, and advice from IT Service Management (ITSM) professionals from across the world - as part of the development of the new ITIL Practitioner qualification.
ITIL Practitioner is the most significant evolution in the ITIL best-practice framework since the launch of AXELOS and will equip ITSM professionals with skills to successfully adopt and adapt ITIL to improve the service management capabilities in line with their organizations’ business goals.
An online portal enables ITSM professionals from any background to directly input into the development process, whether it be key challenges they face, or what they think would add value to the qualification.
The information will be reviewed by the ITIL Practitioner Architect Team (PAT) - Kevin Behr, Karen Ferris, Lou Hunnebeck, Barclay Rae, Stuart Rance, and Paul Wilkinson - which is bringing in years of experience from all aspects of ITSM. The team is leading the development of the syllabus and exam questions, to be available globally by the end of 2015.
Kaimar Karu, AXELOS Head of ITSM, said, "Crowdsourcing ensures that this is a truly international, practitioner-focused initiative that engages the global ITSM community. The PAT is playing a crucial role in the development of the new qualification, and the team is keen to hear about more of the diverse challenges practitioners are facing and the skills they need to develop in order to deliver high-quality service offerings."
ITIL offers many benefits to organizations, including supporting business outcomes, managing risks in line with business needs, showing value for money, and supporting continual improvement. ITIL Practitioner is being developed to help organizations and individuals increase the value they obtain from adopting the ITIL framework.
