Global Perspective on Learning and Technology
Honolulu, HI (USA), May 2009 - ED-Media, the World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia and Telecommunications, is an international conference organized by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE). In 2009 it is being hosted by the University of Hawaii and takes place from 22-26 June.
The annual conference serves as a multi-disciplinary forum for the discussion and exchange of information on the research, development, and applications in all topics related to multimedia, hypermedia, telecommunications, and distance education. It spans all disciplines and levels of education and attracts more than 1,500 attendees from over 60 countries.
The scope of the conference includes, but is not limited to, the following major topics as they relate to the educational and developmental aspects of multimedia, hypermedia and telecommunications.

- New roles of the instructor and learner
- Human-computer interaction (HCI/CHI)

Keynote speakers include Tara Brabazon (Professor of Media Studies, University of Brighton, UK), Stephen Downes (National Research Council of Canada), and M. David Merrill (Professor of Instructional Technology, Utah State University, USA).
