UNITRACC wins NO-DIG Award

align="left" hspace="5"/> Bochum, October 2005 - In an event held as a prelude to the 23rd International NO-DIG Conference in Rotterdam, the ISTT -The International Society for Trenchless Technology - presented its NO-DIG Award for excellent projects in the field of sewer and pipeline construction.




The prize - highly esteemed in the industry - is awarded annually in four categories. UINITRACC, a platform for training and management in trenchless technologies, won in the category "Best Academic Work or Research". Robert Stein, CEO of the company Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stein & Partner, received the award from Menno Henneveld, Vice-chairman of the ISTT and President of the ASTT (Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology).

The international jury of the ISTT honoured UNITRACC as a special example of a universal web application that sets new standards for education and training in the field of underground engineering by means of its well-founded information and learning components as well as its realistic applications. "This international award makes us very proud and confirms once again that our efforts to create a universal medium for information and learning are on the right track", says Robert Stein.

The jury evaluated a total of 21 nominations from ten countries. Among the winners in the category "Student and Young Professional" was John Mathews from the USA, who has developed interactive software for selecting processes for the installation and replacement of utilities.

The ShieldLiner system by the Australian company ShieldLiner Ltd. was honored as the most innovative product. Trenchless Technology Italia Srl. won in the category "Best Trenchless Project" for the installation of a new water supply pipeline by means of vertical drilling through solid rock in Riva at the Lake Garda.

In more than fifty lectures and presentations, the conference participants were provided information from an international perspective about the latest developments, research results, and projects. The attendees' positive feedback confirmed the great success of the 23rd International NO-DIG Conference.
