Financial Competence

Getting Well with eLearning

Cambridge (UK), October 2006 -The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) has partnered with Information Transfer to launch a new eLearning service aimed at professionals and staff with the National Health Service (NHS) throughout the UK.

The HFMA eLearning courses were developed by Information Transfer consultants and the service went online in early July. The courses are delivered using Information Transfer's Knowledge Center learning-management software.

"Improving financial management is one of the biggest challenges that the NHS is currently facing, but it's not just finance professionals that need to ensure they keep on top of their CPD," said Martin Walsh of HFMA. "It's becoming increasingly important for non-finance staff to get to grips with the finances and to update and develop their financial competence."

"HFMA's eLearning can deliver content to the desktop of everyone in the organisation through the Internet, with the ability for each organisation to track completions and competencies where required," he said.

Organisations that do not have their own LMS can plug into the internet-based HFMA LMS. All others can purchase each module with an open license on an unlimited basis with the organisation.
